The AG 500-A22 has a brushless motor for a 3-times longer lifetime (no commutator to damage and no carbon brushes to change). The AG 500-A22 has the performance to tackle applications traditionally only accomplished with corded grinders and provides added operator protection and safety with the electronic brake stop. I love my new blender, product as described. My only complaint is the condition of the box, it looked as though it had been opened at some point. Maybe a open box item or a return. I had planned on keeping the box for storage but it was so damaged upon delivery, every corner taped, that I couldn't get it back in the box. Literally, the box fell apart. It looked pretty rough but fortunately the mixer itself was intact and unbroken. Also, it was shipped in the original box, not wrapped. See photos.
